M3RC Next Generation Kids Triathlon Camp

M3RC Next Generation Kids Triathlon Camp

M3RC Next Generation Kids Triathlon Camp a HUGE success with over 120 local athletes participating. Thanks to everyone!

A sincere thank you to all of our volunteers for all of their hard work and sweat during what was by far the coolest event I have ever been involved with hosting! There were several times yesterday when I simply looked around to see you all selflessly serving the kids by encouraging, motivating, and providing them with information and the skills to improve–all while having a great time. Next a huge thank you to our sponsors who never hesitated when asked to support this event: Bay area runners club, A and B Camperland, Well Bean Kids Yoga, Revolution Racing Team, Cyclefit Sports, Catholic Federal Credit Union, Midland Community Center, Smitty’s Iron Works, Active Orthopedics Physical Therapy, Great Scotts Deli, State Farm John Shankool, B-Xtreme Cycles, Natures Gift Organic Market, Rays Bike Shop, Tritofinish Event Management.

Lastly, a big thanks to ALL M3RC members (YES–your membership fee of $20 annually helped to pay for this event which served a ton of local kids!)

It’s impossible to know how many lives we touch when we introduce and encourage others to participate with multisport activities such as swimming, biking, and running=Triathlon! It’s easy to see the influence we as adults have when we work together to support one another–just look at the past 2 years and the huge expansion of M3RC membership, the ever growing facebook following, and the various regular workout groups which have developed over the past few years. There is no denying that we are having an impact on our community and we can each name at least 2-3 people whose lives have changed from participation with our group and through participation with the “multisport lifestyle”.
In the past our efforts have been targeted towards adults and it’s fair to say we’ve enjoyed some great success. This event however was targeted towards our youth–our children and their peers, many of whom have been watching from a distance while we routinely pack them in the car and drag them to various events week after week. They’ve been watching and they’ve been waiting for their turn. After what we all witnessed yesterday, there is no denying that they are ready and able! They are after all the Next Generation of Triathletes and there is no telling how many more they will influence!
